It's main feature being English. From the information I have gathered it was a busy school for many years until a rival school stole most of the students and by 2002 it was closed and left as is. The land has been purchased and my petition for it to become a world heritage site has been rejected. It will soon be turned into large villas or yet more apartments in the Concrete Jungle it resides in. ]]> http://www.gumbi.ca/comments.asp?glogid=242 gumbi@gumbi.ca (Gumbi) Korean Life To be American or Canadian http://www.gumbi.ca/#240 http://www.gumbi.ca/glog.asp#240 http://www.gumbi.ca/comments.asp?glogid=240 gumbi@gumbi.ca (Gumbi) Ramble The Short Bus http://www.gumbi.ca/#239 http://www.gumbi.ca/glog.asp#239 http://www.gumbi.ca/comments.asp?glogid=239 gumbi@gumbi.ca (Gumbi) Korean Life Anninversary http://www.gumbi.ca/#238 http://www.gumbi.ca/glog.asp#238 http://www.gumbi.ca/comments.asp?glogid=238 gumbi@gumbi.ca (Gumbi) Our Life Day 2 of 30 http://www.gumbi.ca/#237 http://www.gumbi.ca/glog.asp#237 http://www.gumbi.ca/comments.asp?glogid=237 gumbi@gumbi.ca (Gumbi) Ramble Day 1 of 30 days of the Bad Things I do http://www.gumbi.ca/#236 http://www.gumbi.ca/glog.asp#236 http://www.gumbi.ca/comments.asp?glogid=236 gumbi@gumbi.ca (Gumbi) My Life Jobless Bitch http://www.gumbi.ca/#235 http://www.gumbi.ca/glog.asp#235 http://www.gumbi.ca/comments.asp?glogid=235 gumbi@gumbi.ca (Gumbi) Our Life Music That Inspires. Truly http://www.gumbi.ca/#234 http://www.gumbi.ca/glog.asp#234 Lowlands, their screeching guitars and insane feedback was so rupturing that I fell hard for their music. That led me to discovering Explosions in the Sky, which so stirred my soul that I have had to completely rearrange my TOP 10 music list to add them in. After one listen and only one Album they capture me, took me so so very high and with their music showed me that you don't need Lyrics to connect. (I would like to add that Godspeed you Black Emperor, a Great Canadian band is just as beautiful and talented and WORTH the listen) (Not to take from other great Canadian Bands like Broken Social Scene or Do Make Say Think) In fact I have been seriously questioning the need for Lyrics in most music I listen to. Using the equalizer in my car and on my Iriver I set it so I couldn’t hear the lyrics and just the music, and then vice versa. I have to honestly say it has completely changed my perspective on music and music appreciation. Not many bands nowadays can hold me in with their Lyrics and the story that they tell. Putting aside the tear jerking love songs, there are very few that I can think of. TOOL, Porcupine Tree, Pinback and Pink Floyd being at the top of that list, with a few other bands that I am loyal too. Take for instance the beginning of The Dead Flag Blues, rather then having lyrics it has a speech, but the message and the imagery is so inspiring and oddly romantic.
the car's on fire and there's no driver at the wheel and the sewers are all muddied with a thousand lonely suicides and a dark wind blows the government is corrupt and we're on so many drugs with the radio on and the curtains drawn we're trapped in the belly of this horrible machine and the machine is bleeding to death the sun has fallen down and the billboards are all leering and the flags are all dead at the top of their poles it went something like this: the buildings tumbled in on themselves mothers clutching babies picked through the rubble and pulled out their hair the skyline was beautiful on fire all twisted metal stretching upwards everything washed in a thin orange haze i said: "kiss me, you're beautiful - these are truly the last days" you grabbed my hand and we fell into it like a daydream or a fever we woke up one morning and fell a little further down - for sure it's the valley of death i open up my wallet and it's full of blood
It seriously makes me think of David Lynch. I thought it would be interesting to list all the Canadian Bands, so here goes, but first, listen to Explosions in the Sky and get back to me, tell me what you thought. I have so many other discoveries that I would love to share. ]]>

Drugs http://www.gumbi.ca/#233 http://www.gumbi.ca/glog.asp#233 Nick Berg the first American decapitation was aired UNEDITED on Korean News. The complaints were massive, but still the gore and outrage was not enough for the local media institutes to get a fine. About a month later Kim Sun Il was decapitated and the response was swift and unrelenting. Internet sights across Korea were blocked, namely Wordpress and other popular blogging sites, the media was not allowed to show his death. In fact those that did look at it in Korea, has to use a proxy. It is this sort of double standard and nationalistic ideals that lead to the shit hole Korea is in now. Big Business don't trust them, their major corporations are riddled with bribery and theft. The Government is schizophrenic and changes it mind almost everyday, damn what it does to the economy; take the apartment market for example. And they through all foreign issues on to Americans, while neglecting or overlooking the statistics relating to S.Korean or N. Koreans. ]]> http://www.gumbi.ca/comments.asp?glogid=233 gumbi@gumbi.ca (Gumbi) News Fate and Muses http://www.gumbi.ca/#232 http://www.gumbi.ca/glog.asp#232 http://www.gumbi.ca/comments.asp?glogid=232 gumbi@gumbi.ca (Gumbi) Life My Little Lulu http://www.gumbi.ca/#231 http://www.gumbi.ca/glog.asp#231 http://www.gumbi.ca/comments.asp?glogid=231 gumbi@gumbi.ca (Gumbi) Lucy Lament http://www.gumbi.ca/#230 http://www.gumbi.ca/glog.asp#230 http://www.gumbi.ca/comments.asp?glogid=230 gumbi@gumbi.ca (Gumbi) Lucy
